KYTA Chair Applications

After three years of service Hari Har Ji is stepping down as Chair of KYTA following the AGM in May this year and we therefore invite applications for the post.

Minimum term of service is two years.

Applications should be made in writing to info@kundaliniyoga.org.uk stating your reasons for wishing to serve, any relevant qualifications and your vision for KYTA for the coming years.

It is anticipated that applicants will be teachers of long standing with a wealth of experience within the Kundalini Yoga community both national and international.

The post of Chair is a Seva role and requires approximately 5 hours work per week reading and responding to emails, 1 – 2 hours per month for online meetings and attendance at the Teachers’ Conference, AGM and other community events wherever possible.

We have recently advertised for a Finance Officer who will take over the co-ordination of payments and financial planning thus leaving a less complicated role for the Chair.

The responsibilities and requirement for the post of Chair are as follows.

  • To represent the best interest of the teachers at all times.
  • To hold the space within which committee meetings take place and direct proceedings.
  • To liaise on a large scale with KRI to push for changes needed and defend the rights and needs of the UK teachers’ community.
  • To support the other members of the committee, ensuring that they are able to do the work required of them and be available to answer questions.
  • To represent fully the spirit of the teachings.

In addition, it is essential to be able to promote and sustain neutrality and fairness in dealings with all teachers regardless of their natural affiliation to their own school.  KYTA serves all equally.

As KYTA is now a Limited Company registered at Companies’ House, some knowledge of the responsibilities involved would be very useful.

It is anticipated that applicants will be teachers of long standing with a wealth of experience within the Kundalini Yoga community both national and international.
