KYTA is the professional body for Kundalini Yoga teachers in the UK. We provide services to individual teachers and teacher training schools and provide information about Kundalini Yoga to members of the public. We have close links with KRI, 3HO and the training schools but remain independent of any other organisation. We maintain a neutral space in which teachers can receive peer support, build networks, maintain and develop their professional skills, and serve the Kundalini Yoga community. Membership is open to all KRI certified teachers and teachers in training. Our members benefit from comprehensive professional services.

The KYTA committee will shortlist applicants for interview and will contact interviewees by phone or email. The interview will on video conferencing with members of the KYTA committee.

Administrator

KYTA are looking for a super organiser who would love to be involved with the administration that is vital to the smooth running of KYTA.

The job is varied and includes among other aspects:

  • Working in close liaison with the webmaster.
  • Being first of call for members responding to  emails and queries and taking member queries to Committee meetings as appropriate. and feedback to member if appropriate.
  • KYTA membership and dealing with any membership issues.
  • Sitting on the committee and liaising with other members of the committee as appropriate
  • Leaflets – responding to queries about leaflets and posting out as required, maintaining a spreadsheet of these.  – ensuring payment has cleared first.
  • AGM and Teachers Conference – gathering all committee member reports, following up as necessary, print out enough copies for members and collate to give at Conference. Also collect and agenda from the Chair, as well as a meditation from the Chair and print and collate these for members.
  • Online filing and backups .

REQUIREMENTS

  • Administration experience
  • A Kundalini Yoga teacher active in the sangat and with  some existing relationships with members of the sangat, teacher trainers, schools and studios and ability to further nurture relationships.
  • The job is evolving and someone with creative ideas, a willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the table is warmly welcomed.

Digital Communications Officer

KYTA are looking for an all rounder to manage Digital Communications and oversee the Digital Communications Team.

OUTLINE

  • Keep website updated and add content as required
  • Produce KYTA newsletters
  • Digital marketing including managing roll out and announcements of KYTA events across digital platforms
  • Manage member queries relating to website
  • Devise new innovative ways of supporting and communicating with members on digital
  • Manage Digital Communications team

REQUIREMENTS

  • Skilled content producer
  • Very technically savvy
  • Excellent communicator
  • A Kundalini Yoga teacher highly active in the sangat and with an ear firmly on the ground about related events and occasions and with existing networks and relationships with active members of the sangat, teacher trainers, schools and studios and ability to further nurture relationships.
  • An ideas person, flexible in approach with a willingness to expand into the role and allow the role to expand

FULL DESCRIPTION

WEBSITE & OTHER  CONTENT

  • WordPress  – editing & adding pages
  • Basic design work to add new content pages and page elements
  • Creating forms such as KYTA Conference sign up etc.
  • Adding and creating new buttons, images and design elements if and when needed based on current designs (illustrations provided)
  • Producing content such as copy and images for
    • Events
    • Online meetings
    • Adverts

​PRODUCE KYTA NEWSLETTERS

  • Liaise with Webmaster & Social Media team to highlight information of relevance monthly and also to promote the newsletter
  • Liaise with contributors.
  • Edit and fact check contributions.
  • Add the monthly articles as blogs onto the site
  • Design newsletter and send via Mailchimp to all members and social media.
  • Research and curate interesting content
  • Keep newsletter fresh and relevant
  • Liasie and work with Listing Assistantess to learn and bring new ideas to the table is warmly welcomed.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Manage UK Community and Events Community groups in Facebook.
  • Create Group Rules and moderate posts to both groups working with sevadars
  • Devise new ways to support members through our pages and groups.
  • Run social media events e.g. Facebook Live events
  • Collect queries coming in via social media channels and run them past the committee. Respond as appropriate

WEBSITE

  • Understanding of WordPress & its functionality
  • Monitor and maintain the website such as updating plugins
  • Content Production skills – adding new pages and content
  • Understanding of MemberPress, or ability to learn quickly

WORK WITH DIGITAL TEAM

  • Manage team and be liaison with Committee
  • Liaise with Social Media Manager to align and amend social media approack
  • Work with Listings Assistant to produce listings for newsletter
  • Recruit at least 2-3 more members of team on a seva basis

DIGITAL STRATEGY

There are already strategies in place and the Digital Communications Officer will be asked to maintain and update the documents as required and brief teams and committee.

Liaison Officer

  • To communicate between the teaching schools and IKYTA, representing teaching schools’ concerns.
  • Frequent contact with IKYTA by e-mail and, when necessary, by telephone.
  • Receiving information from IKYTA and passing it on to the teaching schools.
  • Helping the UK schools ensure that they meet all the criteria for certification and licensing requirements.
